Our Story

Welcome to our page!
We are Sawyer and Nikki Lester, and we are so happy that you have stumbled upon Bussin Around Rentals. We wanted to make sure that you knew a little bit about the heart and the people behind this business. 

 

Prior to 2023, we both lived very typical lives and worked common jobs. We both had the itch that we wanted more. Shortly after buying our first home together and settling down, Sawyer came to me with the idea of converting a school bus and traveling the United States. Without hesitation and a huge leap of faith, we bought a short bus, sold most of our belongings, rented out our house, and hit the road to begin our greatest adventure. We traveled from Michigan to twenty nine states in the span of about a year. Some of our most cherished memories were made while cooking food over the fire, hiking, playing games under the stars, and just unplugging (literally, as we were very off-grid most times). This spontaneous idea to live in a Skoolie grew into our lifestyle and has since transformed our entire mindsets. Being outdoors and escaping the mundane of the ordinary everyday is what has driven us to want to share these experiences with the people around us. 

 

We have recently grown our family from the two of us to five! We have a sweet baby name Tallulah, one wild cat name Nashville, and now our puppy Sherman! Our lives are full of the best kind of chaos and there is nothing that excites us more than planning our next great adventure. Welcome to that adventure! We hope that your family can experience some of the joy that camping has brought to our lives. Sharing unforgettable memories with those around you and being able to slow down in such a fast paced world. We can’t wait to share a glimpse of our Skoolie love with you and your family.
